AfriForum’s Lichtenburg branch draws up petition against municipal decline

The AfriForum branch in Lichtenburg has recently drawn up a petition against the lack of service delivery by the Ditsobotla Local Municipality. The organisation requests an action plan from the municipality with regards to the improvement of the town’s roads. The branch is also making a plea to the public to support them by signing the petition and consequently support the abovementioned request and force the municipality into action.

“AfriForum’s Lichtenburg branch has this year launched a road repair project with which the municipality also became involved in. We are thankful that the municipality took hands with us during this project, but there are still a lot of work to be done. Many of Lichtenburg’s roads are still in a precarious state seeing as it was neglected for so many years. Considering that the municipality was called to action and to a degree proved that they do indeed possess the ability to maintain the roads, we would like to call them to account to continue with the work they started with AfriForum,” says Petrus Coetzee, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Marico.

Help us by signing the petition at https://antiek.afriforum.co.za/munisipale-verval-in-lichtenburg/. The petition list will be handed over to the municipal manager to apply further pressure.
