On 3 March 2021 AfriForum’s personnel were involved in an action to cut the grass in the Monument Park area. This follows after various complaints were directed to AfriForum regarding the condition of the grass and the sidewalks in this neighbourhood.
This residential area has been weighed down with crime the last few months with the majority of crimes being housebreakings. The criminals quickly escape through the long grass and it is difficult to catch them. AfriForum has taken this project on in an effort to reduce crime in this area and also make the area neat and clean again.
“AfriForum will continue to assist the communities through taking on projects like these to create a safer environment. We are heartened by the communities’ gratitude and we would like to take on more actions like these in future. AfriForum will continue to pressurise the municipality to ensure that they honour their obligations,” says Jp Nel, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the Greater Pretoria South.
