AfriForum cleans Loskop Dam Koppie Monument

On 10 April AfriForum repaired and audited the Loskop Dam Koppie Monument. This project forms part of AfriForum’s national monument audit that kicked off in March 2021 and takes place annually. This project’s goal is to help conserve our heritage for our descendants.

Members of the AfriForum’s Kranspoort branch and Marble Hall branch together with members of the Society for Afrikaner Military Veterans of Groblersdal and Marble Hall assisted in completing the project.

The monument was cleaned and the grass around the monument was cut short and removed. Furthermore, the palisades were repainted. A load of refuse and grass was removed during the clean-up project.

Graffiti was painted on the Loskop Dam’s dam wall over the years, defacing the wall. Members painted this part of the wall grey to cover the graffiti.

The Loskom Dam Koppie Monument was erected in honour of the workers that assisted in building the dam wall. This dam supports more than 26 000 hectares of farming and is a huge anchor for economic growth and progress in the environment

This monument will in future be cleaned regularly and kept tidy by AfriForum’s Kranspoort branch.

The branch encourages the community to become involved with this project and be part of a greener future. SMS your name to 45350 (R1) and join AfriForum.
