AfriForum is taking on Eskom and the municipality regarding the implementation of maximum electricity demand loadshedding as well as the illegal installation of prepaid meters. Loadshedding is currently being implemented in Boshof, Dealesville and Hertzogville because the Tokologo Municipality is exceeding the maximum electricity demand. Besides the loadshedding, the municipality is also installing prepaid metres which weren’t approved by the community and for which no public participation process was followed.
AfriForum is opposing the implementation.
