The Nylstroom/Modimolle area is seriously affected by water that is polluted with sewage. Sewage spills over on stands between houses. AfriForum’s Nylstroom branch had several water tests done over the past three years as part of the organisation’s annual National Blue and Green Drop Project. These tests indicated a drastic increase in the count of E. coli bacteria in the water.
The municipality however neglects to address the problem. We want to encourage community members to support our online petition by adding their names to the charges we plan on bringing against the municipality. Petition ends on 20 May 2021.
