“AfriForum was inundated with requests from schools who received insufficient help from the Department of Education. AfriForum’s East Rand branches therefore participated in the school project to ensure that learners can safely return to schools to resume the 2020 academic year,” says Stephanus (Butch) Blignault, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.
AfriForum has already distributed more than 40 000 bottles of hand sanitiser, 8 000 posters and 200 thermometers to schools across the country.
The organisation’s East Rand branches want to support even more schools during the challenging times ahead to ensure that these schools function in a safe manner. The branches encourage communities to join this initiative: SMS your name to 45342 (R1) and be part of the solution.
