On 2 February the AfriForum neighbourhood watch in Middelburg along with the SAPS took part in an operation in this town. In total 13 neighbourhood watch members and 15 police members participated and several people were arrested.
Some of the arrests include failure to adhere to the curfew and catching a copper cable thief.
