On 10 April 2021 the AfriForum branch in Springs rolled up their sleeves and joined the Move One Million initiative’s clean-up project to clean parts of Springs. The two organisations removed nearly 243 black bags full of refuse in Sixth Street and Eighth Avenue North.
This project is extremely important in communities because local authorities fail to perform their duties. It is community projects like these that once again give hope to a community.
“AfriForum hopes that the local municipality will notice these projects and make a real effort to perform their duties to the taxpayers,” says Cornel Swart, chairperson of AfriForum’s Springs branch.
Swart adds that AfriForum’s Springs branch and organisations like Move One Million work ceaselessly to improve the town’s whole image.
