AfriForum this past week took hands with various organisations to bring further emergency relief to communities in KwaZulu-Natal while the aftershocks of the recent looting are still being felt.
According to Corné Cronjé, AfriForum’s Manager of Community Structures, AfriForum together with Caring Daisies, Agri North West, Agri Limpopo and Saai this past week transported another load of food and essential supplies to KwaZulu-Natal that will be distributed by the AfriForum branch structures in cooperation with Solidarity Helping Hand.
“People’s hearts are still open to help communities in distress. Our branches received several tons of food and provisions as donations that were transported to KwaZulu-Natal at the end of last week together with generous donations from Caring Daisies and Agri North West. Nearly R500 000 has already been collected thanks to AfriForum’s branch emergency fund, as well as donations by the public and AfriForum branches. These funds will be used to offer focused relief in communities that urgently need it,” explains Cronjé.
Caring Daisies donated 350 kg of meat to the affected communities that will also be distributed by Helping Hand’s network of branches in KwaZulu-Natal.
