AfriForum, AfriForum Youth and Cheetahs for Change keeps Bloemfontein clean

AfriForum Youth and the AfriForum branch in Bloemfontein donated rubbish bins to Cheetahs for Change to help them keep the area around the Toyota Stadium clean. The Mangaung Metro has been struggling to provide clean-up services over the past few weeks.

Cheetahs for Change approached AfriForum to make a difference in the community because AfriForum already has structures in place in Bloemfontein to implement such projects. Six steel rubbish bins will be placed in Partiff Avenue and ATT Horak Street in the next few days. They also plan on cleaning up the area around the stadium and to approach other role-players from within the community to join the effort.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to cooperate with Cheetahs for Change in keeping Bloemfontein clean. The cooperation gives us ample opportunity to support other actions in  the Bloemfontein area to have a large, sustainable impact,” says Petri van der Walt, National Coordinator of Town Structures at by AfriForum Youth.

“I am very excited about the relationship that we are building with Cheetahs for Change. It serves the broader community and makes an actual difference in Bloemfontein. The cooperation between AfriForum, AfriForum Youth and Cheetahs for Change will bear fruit and we encourage the local schools, businesses and all residents to participate in our projects to improve our community,” says Christo Groenewald, District Coordinator for Bloemfontein.

AfriForum and AfriForum Youth will continue to launch projects to make a difference where local municipalities fail to do their duty. Join your nearest tertiary or town branch’s youth structure today to make a positive contribution: Email us at jeug@antiek.afriforum.co.za.
