Recently AfriForum’s Springs branch along with the community undertook one of this branch’s biggest clean-up projects yet. The branch inter alia worked with ProSafe Security, Move One Million and learners of the Laerskool P.A.M. Brink to undertake this clean-up project.
On 13 May 2021 preparation for the day was done by cutting the grass in large parts of the local fields. On 14 May bush cutters were used to tidy up the environment after a tractor cut the grass in the field. Branch members and people from the community helped to pick up litter.
“It is truly one of the biggest clean-up projects that the AfriForum branch in Springs and the community have undertaken in the last few years. Thank you to all the roleplayers and individuals who made this project a success,” says Cornel Swart, chairman of the AfriForum branch in Springs.
“By starting such a big clean-up project, a community ensures that the town’s beauty is regained and any key areas and hiding places for any criminal activities in the area are limited,” says Dewet Ungerer, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.
