Track running and off-road cycling with Bennie Roux to create hope
#ForHope #RunForHope
26 – 31 October 2020
Brits, North West
The aim of the #RunForHope track running and off-road cycling day is to complete kilometres in aid of AfriForum’s Trauma Support Unit’s fund which supports victims of crime. The fund is used to assist victims of violent crimes and farm attacks in the following ways:
- Assistance on the scene of the crime
- Cleaning the crime scene
- Diffusing possible traumatic events
- Helping victims to write affidavits
- Preparation for and assistance during court proceedings
Join our ambassador Bennie Roux and his team, who will run and cycle to raise funds for victims.
People can contribute to the fundraiser in the form of sponsorships or donations per kilometre – those who want to become involved can pledge R1 per kilometre or even R10 per kilometre.

#RunForHope in support of AfriForum’s Trauma Support Unit
AfriForum’s Trauma Support Unit launched the #RunForHope project in 2019 to generate funds and create awareness for the victim support fund.
After a team of runners and supporters took to the roads of the Free State, we know that the project is successful. Thanks to donations and wonderful sponsors, more than R85 000 was collected, as well as R60 000 sponsorships that made #RunForHope 2019 possible. By creating awareness on social media, we reached more than 100 000 people!
This was just the beginning, however, because #RunForHope will now happen every year. Watch this space!
Thank you to everyone who was involved in #RunForHope!
Stand together with victims of violent crime and farm attacks. Keep an eye out for #RunForHope projects in 2020 and support AfriForum’s Trauma Support Unit.
