On Thursday 4 October 2018 AfriForum’s Cape Town North branch in conjunction with Oakdale Watch and the Voortrekker Road Corridor Improvement District (VRCID) cleaned up problem areas in the Oakdale neighbourhood. Certain parts of this neighbourhood were in a terrible state due to homeless people and drug addicts having hidden there. During the clean-up several illegal structures were also removed from sites and handed over to the VRCID.
Martin’s Funeral Services is one of the businesses that benefitted from this cleaning project. This project is the first of many that forms part of AfriForum’s annual #YourTown campaign.
“We are proud to be part of the solution and to address the problems in our towns ourselves, to the benefit of the community,” says Tommy van Zyl, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Cape Town North branch.
