The civil rights organisation AfriForum’s Roodepoort branch held a reorganisation meeting on 26 June 2018 and elected a new branch management team. Members who were already strongly involved in the community were the focus.
The new branch management consists of Fanie Naudé (Chairperson), Denise Pretorius (Deputy Chairperson), Marlene Hanekom (Secretary), Francois Naudé (Treasurer), Shelton Wagenaar (Environmental Affairs), Pieter Hanekom (Community Safety) and Michael Edwards (Youth). The portfolio of Local Government Affairs has unfortunately not been filled as yet.
“AfriForum’s Roodepoort branch will focus on continually expanding their safety base and also safeguarding the community and getting them involved,” says Dewet Ungerer, AfriForum’s Regional Coordinator for the West Rand and the Vaal Triangle.
AfriForum requests that residents of the Roodepoort area support this AfriForum branch. SMS “Roodepoort” to 45342 (R1) to become involved.
