AfriForum’s Alberton branch received new safety equipment on 20 September, which include ten bullet-proof vests, reflector jackets and flashlights. This follows the branch identifying this need due to an increase in criminal activities in the area.
“The purpose of the Alberton neighbourhood watch is to assist the community in emergency situations in cooperation with SAPS. Effective safety equipment is therefore of immeasurable value. The neighbourhood watch will launch various actions and patrols to combat crime in cooperation with other local safety structures. We therefore encourage the Alberton community to join our neighbourhood watch,” says Louis van Aswegen, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Alberton branch.
