The Springbok branch of the civil rights organisation AfriForum submitted criminal charges against the Nama Khoi Local Municipality regarding alleged unlawful transactions to the value of approximately R130 million.
These transactions are connected to land and properties in Springbok that was allegedly traded by municipal authorities in an unlawful way. These transactions are dated over the course of several years.
AfriForum’s Springbok branch sought the expertise of Ettienne Lambrechts, Forensic Investigator, to compile these charges.
AfriForum further requested that the SAPS’s anti-corruption and special investigating unit urgently pay attention to these charges, as the Municipality’s financial capability is seriously affected by this alleged corruption.
