Members and personnel of the civil rights organisation AfriForum on 22 June 2018 cleaned up the area around Autohaus in Centurion in cooperation with Pretoria FM and other role-players. This clean-up action was undertaken with the purpose of promoting environmental awareness and was launched by Pretoria FM.
“Approximately 70 people participated in the action and picked up more than 120 bags of refuse. It is a privilege to participate in projects that have a positive impact on the environment and involve communities,” says Chris Boshoff, AfriForum’s Coordinator for Environmental Affairs.
According to Hennie Koortzen, Station Manager at Pretoria FM, the radio station is planning on undertaking a similar project next year. “This project was launched in June particularly because it is World Environment Month. We attempted to subsequently create awareness, as well as to set an example by taking action ourselves. Pretoria FM would like to thank Autohaus Centurion for their involvement and support.”
