AfriForum’s Nelspruit branch cleaned the cemetery in Bosch Street as part of AfriForum’s Rest in Peace campaign.
During this initiative, where three truckloads of refuse and plant material was removed, the branch received support from the Mpumalanga Leadership Foundation in Nelspruit as well as the Mbombela Local Municipality in reaction to a letter addressed to them from AfriForum.
“We are grateful that the Municipality paid attention to our letter,” says Steve Gous of the AfriForum branch in Nelspruit.
“The cemetery is situated in the industrial area and serves as thoroughfare for many people who work in this area and then litter in the cemetery,” explains Hennie Bekker, District Coordinator for AfriForum in Mpumalanga East.
