The AfriForum branch in Bethal this past week started repairing potholes in Hoëveld Avenue, Van der Stel Avenue, Van Riebeeck Street, Wicht Street, Malherbe Street and Nestlé corner, as well as Simon Street.
The branch is planning to repair potholes in Du Plooy Street next, where the town’s old age home is located.
“We are hoping to make a positive difference in our community by means of this project and to prevent roads from deteriorating even further,” says Ingrid Human, Chairperson of the AfriForum branch in Bethal.
“AfriForum will throughout the course of the year tackle similar projects that are to the benefit of the town and the community where the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality neglects to perform its duties towards the residents,” says Hillel Coetzer, AfriForum’s Regional Coordinator for Mpumalanga West.
