On 8 May the AfriForum branch in Witrivier kicked off a pothole repair project. 40 bags in total were used to fill the potholes in Danie Joubert and Drakensberg Street. The goal of this project is to repair roads where vehicles drive at a high speed to decrease damage to vehicles and protect the lives of motorists.
Further projects will be taken on to address this problem that particularly affects the outskirts of Witrivier. This will also help to ensure that tourists can travel safely on the roads around Witrivier.
“This lack of maintenance by the Mbombela Municipality and the Provincial Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport causes great damage to motorists’ vehicles. We will not look on while our beautiful environment is destroyed by maladministration,” says Dawie Ruthven, chairman of the AfriForum branch in Witrivier.
The branch encourages the community to become involved with the project and to become part of a better future. SMS your name to 45350 (R1) and join AfriForum.
