AfriForum expresses sympathy with Mamabolo family and bemoans loss of a colleague and friend

AfriForum would like to sympathise with the Mamabolo family after Adv. Elijah (Tiger) Mamabolo tragically passed away on 18 January 2021. The civil rights organisation bemoans the loss of a valued colleague and friend.

Adv. Mamabolo also acted as spokesperson for AfriForum in a number of the cases which the Private Prosecution Unit worked on.

“Adv. Mamabolo was formerly a senior prosecutor in the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and joined AfriForum’s Private Prosecution Unit in 2018. The loss of Adv. Mamabolo’s expertise, collegiality and passion for his work leaves an unfillable void in the Private Prosecution Unit and the broader organisation,” says Adv. Gerrie Nel, Head of AfriForum’s Private Prosecution Unit.

According to Kallie Kriel, CEO of AfriForum, Tiger dedicated his life to the battle for justice. “It was a privilege to work with Tiger for more than two years at AfriForum in his continued battle for justice. The legal profession and AfriForum will dearly miss Tiger.”
