AfriForum’s Richards Bay branch received training in legal aspects on Friday 22 November 2019. The training – aimed at members who participate in local community safety projects – forms part of AfriForum’s programme to empower communities to act within the framework of the law during safety actions.
“Enriching our active security members with legal information and functional parameters allows for professionalism. This action alone safeguards our community security leaders and members if adhered to,” says Ian Rapson, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Richards Bay branch.
“AfriForum serves KwaZulu-Natal on various levels, including at the SAPS’s monthly provincial rural committee, where excellent cooperation in the province is established,” says Eugene van Aswegen, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for KwaZulu-Natal.
AfriForum plans more training for the Richards Bay branch and encourages the community to join the branch. SMS “Richardsbaai” to 45267 (R1).
