The civil rights organisation AfriForum wrote to the Walter Sisulu Local Municipality on 17 October 2018 and demanded a date for a follow-up meeting with the municipality.
AfriForum’s Aliwal North branch has requested a meeting with municipal management on several occasions, but have not received any feedback yet. On 22 May 2018, the branch met with the municipality on several issues that are troubling the community and would now like to follow up on the action plan to correct these problems.
“We trust that the Walter Sisulu Local Municipality will give recognition to AfriForum’s attempts to involve the municipality in the situation,” says Lize-Mari Smit, District Coordinator for the Karoo.
AfriForum expects an answer to their letter on 22 October 2018.
