AfriForum’s Meyerspark neighbourhood watch held a successful patrol over the past weekend, during which a clean-up operation was also undertaken. The neighbourhood watch protects suburbs like Meyerspark, Equestria, Silverton, and Silverton Extensions 5 and 8.
The patrol was very successful, and no incidents were reported. The aim of the clean-up operation was to remove all illegal advertisements and posters from lamp poles. In the end, about five bakkie loads of trash were removed.
“We truly want to make a difference in our community, and hope to achieve our aims by teaming up with other safety structures. I am very proud to be part of such a successful action,” says André Badenhorst, AfriForum’s Safety Chairperson for the Meyers Park branch.
“The branch will launch similar actions throughout the month as part of AfriForum’s #YourTown campaign, which is aimed at addressing problems in our towns ourselves,” says Lambert de Klerk, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Pretoria South.
