Following regular power outages in certain Pretoria neighbourhoods due to a fire at the Wapadrand substation, AfriForum gives clarity about the process that affected community members should follow to claim compensation from the Tshwane Metro for expired groceries.

What you will need:

  • A claim form;
  • A copy of your identity document;
  • Your utility bill; and
  • A list of the groceries and prices thereof that expired due to the power outages.

Send this documentation to WalterN@TSHWANE.GOV.ZA and claims@tshwane.gov.za, where after the Municipality will contact you.

“It is important that affected people participate in this process in an honest manner,” says Lambert de Klerk, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Gauteng North.

Send an email to lambert.deklerk@antiek.afriforum.co.za to obtain the claim form.
