AfriForum on 5 July 2018 launched a do-it-yourself action and repaired potholes around Hoërskool Waterkloof at a cost of approximately R30 000.
Roadchem, a local contractor, was hired to assist with this action. In total, 3 875 m2 of potholes were repaired for which 2,5 tonnes of asphalt, 200 litres binder course, 400 kg crack sealant and 400 litres sealant were used.
“The community approaches AfriForum to properly tackle municipal service delivery issues. The filling up of potholes is a priority for us and we will discuss it with the Tshwane Metro. The school approached AfriForum to assist them with the problem after they also brought the problem to the attention of the municipality without getting the desired results,” says Lambert de Klerk, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Gauteng North.
De Klerk adds that this is the second project of its type at the Hoërskool Waterkloof.
